The first time I met these two at starbucks I was immediately struck by the way they looked at each other, they way they finished each others thoughts, and how relaxed they were together. You could tell they not only loved it each other but genuinely enjoyed every minute they spent together.

As we chatted I loved their stories, their enthusiasm and their easy laughter together. So when COVID delayed their session I was more than a little disappointed.

Today I’m thrilled to share not only a sneak peek of their engagement images but a few snippets of their love story in their own words too.

And now I’m turning it over to the lovebirds Grace & Andrew to share a little more about their love story

How long have you known each other?

Since September 24th, 2017.

How did you meet?

We met when I (Grace) started working at the Hilton Bar & Grill in Ottawa. He was a server and I was training to become a hostess. The first night I asked the woman training me if she knew if he was single, she told me to go for it and ask him out. I had just promised to myself that I would stop dating after multiple heartaches. But I shook his hand and I was smitten. For the next couple months we dated casually and got to know each other. By January he had given me a diamond necklace and by March he had basically moved in with me and my roommate.

When did you know your fiance was 'the one'?

Grace: I think I fell in love with him the second I saw him. He was this perfect man who was confident and knew what he wanted. Within months we were in a serious relationship, and in it for the long haul.

Andrew: You just know.

What is your favourite thing about your fiance?

Both: How do I choose one??

Grace: He always gives 100% of himself, whether it's playing video games with his sister and friends, taking care of me when I'm not feeling well, making me laugh when I'm sad; he just loves with his whole heart.

Andrew: I love the way she always thinks of others first. (I was going to say her smile, but that's too cheesy)

What do you love to do together?

Recently we've found a new love of going to the beach together. We love to stand in the water talking, or play in the waves like children.

What are you most looking forward to for your big day?

Grace: I'm looking forward to seeing all of my family grouped in one place. After the year we've had, spending the evening laughing and dancing with my family sounds like a dream come true. But I am most looking forward to marrying the man of my dreams, and seeing him standing at the end of the aisle, waiting to start the rest of our lives.

Andrew: Finally tying the knot, especially after waiting an extra year.

What was your favourite part of having your portraits taken?

Having two hours to stare at each other! It was a lot more comfortable than we thought it would be. The only uncomfortable part was trying to swing dance in high heels on cobblestones! But it was funny, so that definitely helped.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Thank you so much for this opportunity. This has been a year of ups and downs, and being able to take professional pictures to send out to our loved ones is a dream come true.
